Once you've visited Labrador, it's rugged, isolated, beauty draws you back.
In 2005 we paddled the Churchill river.
This year we are going where few people have ever been.
Below is a view of our planned route looking west from the highest point in Northwest River.
Little Lake is in the foreground. Grand Lake begins just beyond the narrow channel (in the middle of the picture) and runs 60 km northwest. The entrance to the Naskaupi river lies at the north end of Grand Lake.
We hope to retrace a tiny part of the Hubbard expedition's journey. It's a flatwater trip. As of July 19 four people have decided to come. Depending on transportation, we might have room for two more paddlers. If you are interested, there is still time to join us. We need to hear from you soon however. Philip Schubert from Ottawa has paddled this route. If you are interested in more information and photos he has an outstanding account of his trips and the area at http://magma.ca/~philip18/Hubbard-Rock.html
